Rhodes St Unit Development
Located in the heart of Merivale, on the southern boundary of Christchurch's Rangi Ruru Girls’ School, the design brief called for 3 modern town houses that would take full advantage of this site’s natural strengths.
The development makes use of cantilevered elements extensively to add interest and enhance the built form. Metal standing seam, rusticated cedar weatherboard, plaster finish & Designer Series textured panel cladding are used thoughtfully throughout to define the façade.
With an east - west site orientation, this development provides each unit with north facing outdoor spaces providing all day sun and outdoor living areas ideally positioned for enjoying a relaxing read on the sun lounger during the day, or entertaining friends and family in the evening.
At the first floor level, full advantage was taken of the site’s views north over the expansive grounds of the adjacent school. The result is an amazing feel of privacy and openness, an uncommon asset in this day and age of high density, infill development.
